HISTORIC TALKS AND GARDEN WALKS

Located just 25 minutes from Christchurch in beautiful Charteris Bay, we can offer a talk tailored to the time needs of your group. In addition to the talk and fantastic garden walks, we will open up the heritage buildings allowing your group to explore how life was over 100 years ago. Home to the oldest stone building in Canterbury, the Stone Cottage was sadly damaged in the 2011 earthquake and is currently being assessed for renovation. You can also see the Millhouse and the water wheel which powered the first electric light on the peninsula.

After the talk why not relax with something nice from the Cafe? Then explore the Rhododendron garden (accessible by wheelchair) which offers a journey of incredible colours surrounded by beautiful perfumes and bird songs. The park also offers additional walks for all abilities and time frames from the Arboretum to Mt Herbert.

There is a small fee for the talks. $5 per person, minimum of 10 people. Please contact the office to book a tour. If you would like a tour of the Rhododendron garden we can arrange a tour for you with advance notice. Tours of the Arboretum are also available.

ENTRANCE FEE

As we are a private park, there is an entrance fee to enter the park. The entrance fee helps to maintain the tracks, buildings and other attractions within the park. Your co-operation is much appreciated.

The entrance fee is $5 per adult, $1 per child, to a maximum of $10 per car load.

WE ARE A DOG FREE ZONE

Due to Orton Bradley Park being a working farm, and also hosting many young children, we do not allow dogs on the property. There are kennels available for use at the entrance booth.
